Proexamine Surgicals Aluminium Electric Autoclave Pressure Cooker Type Mirror Finish
All autoclaves are constructed from heavy gauge aluminium. It’s generates steam under pressure and temperature between 120°C to 135°C. Made from seamless Aluminium, top loading autoclaves. Seamless construction ensures bacteria free environment. 25-30 minutes sterilizing cycle at 121º c. With two stages over pressure protection system incorporating a calibrated continuous bleeding pressure stopcock and pressure release weight valve. With heat resistant handles and steam release / control valve. Pressure Gauge: Colour coded pressure gauge showing internal chamber conditions during the cycle. Sterilization zone in green colour is shown from 15 psi to 20 psi (OR 1.034 bar to 1.378 bar) which is equivalent to temperature of 121°c to 127°c. Dial size: 2.5″. Dial show measurement in 2 units (i) kg/cm² (ii) lb/inch². Full scale dial of pressure gauge is 0-30 lb/ inch² or 0-2 kg/ cm². Caution zone in red colour.
Mirror Finish
The mirror finish on metal enhances its appearance and consistency, making its cleaning easier. It also masks the after-effects of welding and hides surface damage, if any. The benefit of the mirror finish is that it also improves corrosion resistance.

Observe these precautions for trouble free handling
· Important -For correct operation of this autoclave is is essential that the chamber should be filed with distilled or DE-ionized water till the Heating Element is completely submerged in water.
· Close the lid properly and carefully by pressing it down and turn it clockwise until it does not turn anymore Half closed lid may cause sudden release of high pressure steam or lid may below off
· The autoclave is factory set to run at 121″, this is the maximum setting which is suitable for most purposes. Do not exceed the manufacturer’s recommended pressures and temperatures.
· Warning – It is dangerous to begin opening the autoclave before the pressure gauge registers zero Altar pressure gauge register Zero, wait for five minutes and then open the autoclave’s Lid.
· All external body and lid surfaces are hot during and immediately after sterilization Lit or move the autoclave by the handle only.
· Remove debris (rubber bands, plugs, etc.) from the autoclave. If left these will block the drain valves and may create a hazard for other users.
· The main power plug point should be easily accessible as it is the best mean of power cutoff in event of emergency. Mains outlet must be earthed (GROUNDED).
· Report any malfunction of the apparatus, particularly if the steam valve fails to operate normally to the supervisor and conspicuously tag the equipment’s as “out of service”
· Lid gasket – check the Lid Gasket for distortion or wear and tear. The lid Gasket is located in the groove on the underside of the lid. Check that it has not become brittle Replace the lid Gasket with a new one if necessary.
Pressure Gauge & thermometer
The pressure gauge has pressure scale and the temperature scale as well. The pressure gauges only read pressure the temperature scale is marked to ensure correlation of temperature and pressure.
OPERATING INSTRUCTION FOR PORTABLE STEAM AUTOCLAVE
(ELECTRIC OR FUEL HEATED)
· Place the autoclave at the suitable place on the stand and the sterilizing materials on the table or on the shelf.
· Fill distilled or DE-ionized water in the base chamber up-to the level of tripod stand kept inside the base chamber and place the dressing drum loaded with sterilizing materials on the tripod stand in the base chamber and close the lid by pressing the lid down and turning it dock wise.
· Connect the electric cord with the element socket and 3 pin 15Amp. Plug to the mains (220/240 Volts, 50 Hz) and switch ON the power or place the burner on the firm surface and place the autoclave on the burner in case of non-electric autoclave.
· After few minutes steam will start generating and pressure will start rising on the pressure gauge.
· At 15+1 ib psi pressure the steam will come out strongly from the stopcock. Note this initial time and after 20-25 minutes from this initial time switch off the power or burner.
· Now loosen / open the stem release knob and let the entire steam escape from the knob outlet wait for 3-5 minutes as the unit is hot and make sure that there is no steam left in the autoclave and pressure gauge is also registers zero ib psi.
· Now carefully now open the autoclave lid by twisting it anticlockwise and lift the lid off the base chamber.
· Remove the sterilized contents from the autoclave and preserve the same for it’s intend use.
